Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the Broke and the Bookish. Today’s theme was:
Top Ten Books On My Summer TBR list
I have way too many books on my summer TBR, so I thought the easiest thing to do would be to just list the next ten books I plan on reading. Hope that’s alright. 🙂 This list is funny to me because recently TTT was which books I think YOU should read this summer, and I had a lot of YA and contemporary on it. My TTT this week doesn’t have much of that.
1. Necroscope by Brian Lumley. I made a deal with my dad to read one book in this thirteen book series every month until I finish it.
3. Say What You Will by Cammie McGovern
4. The Black Hour by Lori Rader-Day
5. The Strain by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan. Hoping to read in time for the premiere of the TV series on July 13.
6. Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys. Based on this review by Booknerderie.
7. The Dream Thieves by Maggie Stiefvater. I LOVED The Raven Boys.
8. The Summer I Turned Pretty by Jenny Han
9. The Sting of Summer by Katherine Over. Wooo for winning free books on Goodreads.
10. Okay, this isn’t next up on the list, but I can’t wait for this one:
Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins.
What books are you looking forward to reading this summer?
Let me know if Necroscope is any good! Both the bf and I enjoy a good horror-ish read.
Will do. I’ll be reviewing it over at watchplayread.com. But I’ll link up to it in my weekly recap post.
I really enjoyed the Raven Boys as well! I’m excited for Dream Thieves.
– Kritika @ Snowflakes & Spider Silk
I’m really looking forward to being able to read The Dream Thieves.
Thanks for stopping by!
Dream Thieves is one I reaalllllly want to read! And I would love to get hold of The Strain, I’m a huge Del Toro fan!
Check out my TTT!
Katrina @ Chased By My Imagination
I’m really excited to read both of those books!
I checked them both out from the library. Maybe your local library has The Strain? 🙂
Thanks for stopping by my TTT. Headed to check out yours now.
I also put Say What You Will on my shortlist mainly only because I could finally say I read something of similarity to rainbow rowell/john green (because goodreads cites them in the synopsis–therefore it must be true). Buuuut I hope you enjoy all the potential feels it might offer!
Cheers,
joey via. thoughts and afterthoughts
Joey, where have you been?! I’ve missed you. 🙂
I’m really excited to read Say What You Will for exactly the reason you cited: it’s been compared to those two authors. Also, the book sounds chock full of diversity, and yay for diversity!
I know, I feel bad for just leaving people out in the dark and apparently those who’ve missed my random TTT lists.
I don’t think it was a reading slump…I think it was just the fact that gaming started getting really intense and drained a lot of time haha. Buuut I’m slowly making my return!
Ahhh. What have you been playing?
It’s good to have you back. 🙂
An MMORPG called TERA Online.
Surprised to hear that people actually noticed me MIA from the blogging world!
I discovered The Black Hour on Goodreads a few weeks ago and immediately added it to my TBR! I’ve been needing some more thrillers in my life. I can’t wait to see your thoughts on it!
I’ll be reviewing it over on WatchPlayRead.com but I’ll link up to it on my Sunday Funday weekly recap thing when it goes up! I’ve been needing some thrillers too. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by my TTT earlier! I enjoyed The Dream Thieves better than The Raven Boys. Can’t wait for book 3.
Sandy @ Somewhere Only We Know
That’s awesome! I’m looking forward to it even more now! 🙂
Great list, and very different! Lots I haven’t heard much about on here that I’ll have to check out!
I was hoping for something like that! Instead of just listing ten summer-type books, I wanted to include some others that were, like you said, different. 🙂 I’ve been reading a lot of YA/contemporary, so I needed some different books to read. 🙂
The Summer I Turned Pretty was super good – I binge read that trilogy.
Ooo. I recently bought thr trilogy in one book at Wal-Mart. I’m looking forward to reading it!
Thanks for stopping by!
See, I forgot to add Isla to my list on account of it comes out after school starts back lol! But I am SOOOOO EXCITED for that one! And also Say What You Will…Cannot wait!!!
Thanks for stoppin’ by! Have a great week!
I cannot wait for Isla!! And I’ve been looking forward to Say What You Will for a long time! I’m excited to start it soon!
Thanks for stopping by mine too!
Have you ever stalked the Rich Kids of Instagram site? Seriously, some of those kids…
Oh my goodness. I know! Kind of why I requested the ARC. I thought I’d get a good kick out of it. Lol.
I loved The Dream Thieves and I’ve heard so many wonderful things about Say What You Will!
I’m so excited to read The Dream Thieves! I LOVED The Raven Boys. I’ve heard good things, too. I just checked it out from the library and then won an ARC on Goodreads! So excited. 🙂
I can’t wait for Isla too. I’m dying!
AHH! It needs to be August NOW. Book bloggers are going to be fangirling all over the place. Haha.
Great list! I feel like I haven’t done a TTT in forever…
Ahh, Isla!!! I’m so freaking excited for this book, I can’t even XD Hopefully I can get it right when it’s released.
I loved TTT! I find a bunch of new blogs and new books to read every week. 🙂
AHHHH! I can’t wait! The book blogosphere is going to EXPLODE in August. Haha.
Hooray for The Dream Thieves! I love that series. Looking forward to Isla and the Happily Ever After as well, The Rich Kids of Instagram looks very interesting.
Yay! I loved The Raven Boys, and I’m really excited to read the next one.
I requested the e-ARC of Rich Kids of Instagram on NetGalley because I thought I’d get a good kick out of it. I think it’ll be really interesting to read.
Thanks for stopping by!
Oooo…. I did not know Guillermo del Toro had books!! I am shocked and super excited! lol Awesome TTT post! 🙂
Yeah! He actually originally pitched The Strain as a TV series, but no one picked it up. So he wrote it as a book and now it’s being made into a TV series. Haha! I love how that worked out.
Thanks so much!
That is crazy that he had to go through all that just to make them take notice. At least we get a book out of it though!! 😉
Right? I mean, it’s GUILLERMO DEL TORO. They should’ve said yes as soon as he brought up the idea. But whatever. I’m excited to get a creepy, horror-filled, vampire book!
Nice! I still haven’t read any Lumley though I do have the first in the series hanging out on my bookshelves. The premise sounded excellent – I really must get that out and read it soon.
I haven’t read any of his books either, but my dad has been trying to get my to read this series for YEARS. I’m looking forward to reading as I also think the premise sounds really fascinating.
Thanks for stopping by!
I can’t wait to read Isla and the Happily Ever After!
Great list! Here’s my TTT
I’m so looking forward to Isla!
Thanks for stopping by!
Aw, your blog is so cute, Stefani 🙂 Say What You Will–my friend love that one and can’t shut up about it (in a good way)–really hope you love that one too 😉 Yay! We’re twinsies! Can’t wait to read The Dream Thieves. Maggie Stiefvater is the queen of captivating stories and I don’t mind one bit that it’s Ronan-centered. Eeep! ISLA. Bring itttt! Stephanie has teased lots of kissing and swoon so can’t wait 🙂
Thank you! 🙂
I don’t mind that either. Ronan was really interested in the first book, so I’m looking forward to learning more about him.
Wooo! Isla! I read and reviewed the five chapter sneak peek recently and just loved it. I am going to really enjoy Isla as the narrator. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by!
Have fun you two! 😀
I’m looking forward to reading your thoughts on The Dream Thieves. I’m hoping to get to The Raven Boys in the fall. 🙂
I LOVED The Raven Boys. It was just so well-done and magical. Hoping to get to The Dream Thieves next week.
I forgot to tell you – the cake for Bert’s party turned out perfectly! Thanks for crossing your fingers for me. 😉
Yay! I’m so glad. 🙂
IM SO READY FOR ISLA!!!! Like, cannot wait. I will drive up to Brandon to go get it with you hahaha
You should! Then we can just sit on the couch and read it together and not talk. Haha. Well, we’ll probably fangirl together the whole time. Should be fun. Let’s plan it. 🙂
That sounds like the best idea ever!!!!!!!!
Well I’m down if you are. 🙂 jLet’s plan this.
Let’s do it. It is released August 14th! That’s a Thursday 🙂 Sooooo that weekend?!
Sounds good to me! Yay! I’m looking forward to this book release even more now!
ME. TOOOO!!! *happy dance*
