Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the Broke and the Bookish. Today’s theme was:

Books
1. Ian Rankin – Who’s surprised?
2. Matt Haig – I know you are all shocked.
3. Maggie Stiefvater – Oh, man. I’m just a bag full of surprises today.

5. Jennifer E. Smith – No way!
Comics
1. Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead) – aka 1 of the 2 authors who got me into comics.
2. Brian K. Vaughan (Saga) – aka the other author who got me into comic.
3. Peter J. Tomasi (Batman and Robin, Robin: Son of Batman) – aka the author who writes my favorite comic book character.

1. Becky Albertalli
2. David Arnold
3. Jasmine Warga
4. Nicola Yoon
5. Adam Silvera
6. Renee Ahdieh
Authors who are automatic reads but not necessarily auto-buy
1. Sarah Dessen
2. J.K. Rowling (though I haven’t read her Robert Galbraith stuff yet)
3. Oliver Jeffers
4. John Green
Okay, this list is super long, but whatever. Who are your auto-buy/auto-read/auto-grabby-hands authors?
I have officially added all of Jennifer E. Smith’s books to my TBR. I have to read another one of her books before I consider her an auto-buy though. My only real auto-buy author is Leigh Bardugo, which I’m sure you are aware of how much I adore her haha. The Rose and The Dagger will determine if Renee ends up being an auto-buy for me I think, LOVE the Wrath & The Dawn
I CANNOT wait for The Rose and the Dagger!!
I love how you broke down your list this week! I have several authors that I plan to read many more books from but that only published one so far so I didn’t count them. I should have! Anyway… Great list! 😀
Thanks! I wasn’t going to count debuts, but I figured, why not? 🙂
I haven’t read everyone on your list, but I’m so right there with you on Brian K. Vaughn! Saga was amazing and I am going to be working my way through his backlist. Also, J.K. Rowling. I haven’t read anything since HP yet, but I will still buy it all just to support her. And Ian Rankin! I bought Knots and Crosses like…. 5 years ago… and still haven’t read it. Perhaps I should get on that seeing as he’s the first name on your list. XD
You’ve GOT to read Ian Rankin! I have read every single one of his 30-something books. LOVE HIM.
Jasmine Warga = YES! I definitely have to read Matt Haig soon as well 🙂
YOU DO!!
The only author I’ve read books by on your list is Maggie Stiefvater. All the rest are new! I’ll have to check them out!

Maggie is queen. Lol. My list has a huge range of genres, so if you’re looking to try something new, there you go. 🙂
This is a great list. Renee Ahdieh actually has an adult book out as well as The Wrath and the Dawn. I can’t remember the name of it off the top of my head but I know that it exists.
Thanks for sharing.
Amanda
I had NO idea she had another book out. Heading over to Goodreads!
You crack me up with your book list! Yes, always always to Stephanie Perkins!
I’m kind of predictable when it comes to my favorites. Lol.
Yay for Stephanie Perkins (obviously) and Maggie Stiefvater (finally working my way through the raven cycle per your suggestion and I’m definitely hooked). Great list!
YAY! I am so happy to hear that!
I love this list! Renee Ahdieh and Nicola Toon are definitely authors I will buy books from automatically in the future too! xoxo
YES! I love how many amazing debuts we’ve seen this year.
LOL! I felt like my list was pretty predictable too. It’s basically my favorite authors who are still alive. You really need to read the Robert Galbraith books – they have the grittiness of CV, but the intricate mysteries are awesome!
I wasn’t a huge fan of CV, but I like crime fiction so I definitely want to try them.
Perkins, Stiefvater (bag of surprises Hahahaha), Schwab, Ilona Andrews, Tana French, Yoon (because reasons), Gabaldon, and I think there’s more but my brain isn’t producing words. I’ll think of them an hour from now and text you lol. Great post.
Hahaha. We are SO predictable! I really need to read more of Schwab’s books.
Hahaha I wouldn’t have it any other way. Yeah, I just got A Darker Shade of Magic in the mail this morning. Her adult fiction is dark AF and I love it.
AH. Read ADSOM right now. Like, RIGHT NOW.
Like, right this second?
YES.
Love your list. Still some authors I need to read on there. J.K. Rowling would definitely be on my auto reads list, although I haven’t read her Robert Galbraith stuff yet either.
I’ll get around to it one of these days. I think I was put off a bit because I tried A Casual Vacancy and DNF’ed it, but I love crime fiction, so I think I’ll like them.
CV was definitely a slow read for me. I liked it but don’t think I’d ever read it again. I like crime fiction too. Maybe after my library is up and running again I’ll check them out.
