Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the Broke and the Bookish. Today’s theme was:
Top Ten Books I’ve Read So Far In 2015
According to my Goodreads challenge, I’ve read almost 80 books already in 2015. How can I possibly trim that down to TEN favorites? I got it down to fourteen, which is about as good as it’ll get. It was hard enough to do that. Haha.
Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas [realized I never reviewed this one while compiling this list! Oops. Rest assured: I loved it | GR]
My Heart & Other Black Holes by Jasmine Warga [My review | GR]
A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab [My review | GR]
Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda by Becky Albertalli [My review | GR]
Reasons to Stay Alive by Matt Haig [My review | GR]
Magonia by Maria Dahvana Headley [My review | GR]
None of the Above by I.W. Gregorio [My review | GR]
Made You Up by Francesca Zappia [My review | GR]
A Court of Thorns at Roses by Sarah J. Maas [My review | GR]
I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson [review soon | GR]
The Gracekeepers by Kirsty Logan [My review | GR]
Devoted by Jennifer Mathieu [My review | GR]
The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh [review soon | GR]
The Library at Mount Char by Scott Hawkins [My review | GR]
Tell me your favorite books you’ve read so far this year!
SO many good books! Yay for Throne of Glass and ACOTAR being in here!! I definitely will get to Haig and Schwab at some point. Made You Up and Devoted are two that have caught my eye, and as much as I don’t enjoy the cover for The Wrath and The Dawn, I’ve seen enough reviews that it’s firmly in my wishlist! R x
Made You Up and Devoted are amazing. Also, YESSSSSS for The Wrath and the Dawn! It’s so good!
WHAT A COLORFUL LIST. I’ve read and loved a lot of the books you listed here (esp. Magonia!). But ugh I still haven’t read ACOTAR! Hoping to read it before 2015 ends.
MIGUEL! You’ve got to read that one!
I may be a little hard on my books, that I only have 10 five-stars.
Wrath & the Dawn is next on my pile! I’m so excited to read it!
That one is SO SO good! Looking forward to your thoughts!
A court of thorns and roses, and The wrath and the dawn were so good! I haven’t read A darker shade of magic yet but I’ve heard good things!
If you liked ACOTAR and The Wrath and the Dawn, you’ll love ADSOM! That one was awesome! I hope you get to read it soon. 🙂
Have not read any of these. Min is The Ravens, by Tomas Bannerhed
A Darker Shade and ACOTAR both made my list this week. And there are many books on your list that are on my TBR that I can’t wait to get to!
Both of those were AWESOME, weren’t they?!
Yes, they were, both excellent in their world-building.
Fantastic list! My Heart and Other Black Holes was *this* close to making mine. I also love Simon (of course), I’ll Give You the Sun, and Made You Up. I hope to read Wrath soon!
MH&OBH was just so incredible. I had to put it on my list. I hope you get to read Wrath soon! That one totally exceeded my expectations! (which were already pretty high)
You’ve read 80 books this year already?! Holy moley!
Some great books in your top 15 list! I haven’t even read 15 books yet this year!! =/
Haha. Yeah. I’ve got a few children’s books included in that, but they totally count! I read pretty quickly. 🙂
Wish I read quickly =[
Sarah J Maas is high up on my TBR list. We have a few of the same books on our lists! Here’s my TTT.
You’ve definitely got to check her out! Her books are great!
❤ this list. I've just added pretty much all of them to my TBR! xx SO MANY BOOKS TO READ!
Aw, yay! I’m so glad! Definitely let me know if you check any of them out. 🙂
Thank you for sharing your favorite reads so far this year with us. I look forward to exploring some of the book titles you’ve listed in your TTT post this week. I have the feeling I’ll be adding more book titles this week to my ever growing reading wishlist.
Here’s a link to my TTT for this week: http://captivatedreader.blogspot.com/2015/06/top-ten-tuesday-top-ten-books-ive-read.html
TTT is always so hard on my TBR. Lol.
So many of these I either loved reading or can’t wait to start ASAP! Awesome list. 😀
Thanks! I hope you get to read the ones you’re interested in soon!
SIMON!!!!
We may have only one book in common but it is a pretty gosh darn amazing one!!
My TTT is here.
YESSSS. I LOVE SIMON!!
You were like me! I ended up with 5 honorable mentions. 🙂
Throne of Glass!!! Simon!!!! Such great books! I have The Wrath and the Dawn but haven’t read it yet! Soon!!!!!!! I’ve heard Made You Up was really good too, I actually don’t know what it’s about.
The Wrath and the Dawn is SO GOOD. I hope you get to read it soon. Made You Up is set from the perspective of a girl with paranoid schizophrenia. It’s delightful.
So looking forward reading Matt Haig’s book!
Beckminavidera represent! So, okay. You know how much I love Simon vs. I also approve of My Heart and NONA. But among these titles, I srsly want to read Made You Up, I’ll Give You the Sun and Grace Keepers!
I really hope you get to read those three soon. I’m like 150% sure you’re going to LOVE I’ll Give You the Sun and Made You Up. The Gracekeepers is a beautifully strange book. I hope you love all three!
Wow. That’s a strong recommendation! But I’m pretty certain I’d like those two as well. So. 🙂 As for GK, it’s been pitched as in the veins of The Night Circus, what do you think?
I personally didn’t really like The Night Circus but I LOVED The Gracekeepers. They aren’t really similar other than the fact that there’s a travelling circus and the book feels magical. BUT I think if you liked The Night Circus, you’ll also love GK, but you don’t have to like The Night Circus to like GK. Does that make any sense?
It does! And thank you! Although, disclaimer, I love TNC. 🙂
I really need to read A Court of Thorns and Roses and The Wrath and the Dawn. The only one on your list I’ve read is Throne of Glass. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
ACOTAR and The Wrath and the Dawn are both incredible! I hope you get to read them soon!
I’m planning to read Magonia soon!
I totally agree with you on Throne of Glass and ACOTAR. They are simply amazing and it close to the top of my favourites list!
Its so hard to pick out of so many books. I don’t know how I’m going to pick my favourites at the end of the year. Xoxo
Picking books at the end of the year for the TTT post is SO HARD. I hope you get to read Magonia soon!
I have (shamefully) never read any of the books on your list, but I have heard of many of them. I’ve been looking into reading A Court of Thorns and Roses, so that might need to happen now. 🙂
NO SHAME! I hope you get to read ACOTAR soon!!
I haven’t read any of these but the concept of The Library at Mount Char intrigues me.
The Library at Mount Char was hands down the most bizarre book I’ve read in a long time and I absolutely loved it.
Great list! The only book I read from it was Throne of Glass. I reeeeeeaaaaalllly want to read A Darker Shade of Magic though (might wait for the paperback though) 😀
My TTT
ADSOM was awesome! When does the paperback come out?
Good question! According to Indigo website, January 2016 xD
DANG. I would NOT be able to wait that long!
I’m SO happy to see Sarah’s books on your list!!! I fell in love with these last year and I’m SO glad I read them! Also for Devoted too! That book was so great and I’m so glad I took a chance on it because it’s not something I’d normally pick up.
I can’t wait to read more of the ToG series. I LOVED the first one. Wasn’t Devoted just brilliant? I’m glad you enjoyed it too!
Great list! Some I’ve read, others still waiting on my TBR. Simon made my list this week too! 🙂
I don’t understand anyone who didn’t like Simon. Lol.
Great list! A Darker Shade of Magic and Magonia are both on my TBR, and I recently bought myself a copy of The Gracekeepers. 🙂
Oh, man. Read The Gracekeepers ASAP. That book was beautiful and strange and so so good.
Sarah J. Maas is my hero. 😉 The Wrath & The Dawn blew me away and passed my expectations! I plan on reading None of the Above and Mangonia so I am glad to see they made your list today!
The Wrath and the Dawn was so absolutely incredible. It blew me away too. I hope you get to read those other two soon!
I am next on the waiting list for Court of Thorns and Roses. I’m looking forward to it, though I’m a little hesitant bc I hated Throne of Glass.
I’d say that the writing style is similar to ToG but a lot of it is really different as well. I could tell it was Sarah J. Maas but ACOTAR is more adult than ToG. I hope you enjoy it!
Wow you’ve read so much this year already! And I know what you mean, it’s so hard to trim down your list to just ten. I spot a couple of my favourites on your list and I’m looking forward to giving “I’ll Give You the Sun” a read. Great list!
My TTT
Obsessive Compulsive Reader
I’ll Give You the Sun was absolutely wonderful. I read it as an audiobook, and I would highly recommend that format if you like audiobooks. 🙂
I’ve thought about reading Grace Keepers…may have to pick that one up!
You really should! It’s a beautiful and strange book. I loved it.
So many brilliant books that I want to now read. None of the above looks like a wonderful book.
None of the Above was an incredible and thought-provoking and important book. I hope you get to read it soon!
Devoted made my list too, and The Library at Mount Char is waiting for me at the library. 🙂
YAY! I hope you like it. Let me know what you think. 🙂
A Court of Thorns and Roses just missed my list. Also I’ll Give You the Sun was last year for me, but still a flawless read.
Both of them were amazing. I can’t believe I waited until this year to read I’ll Give You the Sun, but either way, I’m glad I read it.
Picking ten favorites was definitely so hard to do!
I had None of the Above and Simon vs. on my TTT as well.
There are a bunch on your list that I really want to read! (Made You Up, Magonia, The Wrath and the Dawn).
I have the books, so hopefully I will get to them soon!
I really liked A Court of Thorns and Roses. I read that this month. 🙂
Here is my post if you want to check it out: https://sociallyawkwardbookworm.wordpress.com/2015/06/30/top-ten-tuesdaytop-books-i-read-so-far-in-2015-2/
I hope you get to read those soon! They are all wonderful in my opinion. 🙂 Heading to check out your list now!
