Quote Quoted: The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

The Night Circus

I am STILL reading The Night Circus. I had to take a break from it, but now that I’ve picked it back up a few days later, I’m enjoying it more than I was before. So that’s good. I read this quote yesterday and I thought it was just a beautiful visual and really atmospheric. I had to share. 🙂

There is the softest of sobbing as the coffin is lowered into the ground, but it is difficult to pinpoint who it is coming from, or if it is instead a collective sound of mingled sighs and wind and shifting feet.

I just really liked it. So that’s it. I just wanted to share the quote.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Quote Quoted: The Black Hour by Lori Rader-Day

I, for one, LOVE quotes, and I know that a lot of you guys do too. So I’ve started “Quote Quoted” on the blog as a way to showcase some of my favorite quotes from my current reads and discuss them. The Black Hour

I’m currently reading Lori Rader-Day’s The Black Hour, which I’ll be reviewing over on WatchPlayRead in the next few days. I chose two quotes for this book, but they are only two lines from each other:

Crooked paths often still lead where you wanted to go.

We were all slightly different versions of ourselves now.

I love both of these quotes. This book is very much about the journey we go through in life, the ups and downs, the successes and failures, the hardships and happiness. I really appreciated the first quote because I related to it so well. Your path might not go the way you thought it would, but you’ll still get where you want to go.

The second quote made me think of the following Doctor Who quote. I completely agree with it and the quote in The Black Hour. Our experiences change us and we become completely different people, whether we mean to or not. We are always changing, growing, learning. You just keep moving.

We all change - Doctor WhoThis book was incredible, you guys. I’ll be reviewing it over on WatchPlayRead, and it should be up in the next day or two. Look out for it over there! 🙂

Quote Quoted: Say What You Will by Cammie McGovern

Hey guys! So I’ve been toying with the idea of every few days or so posting a quote from the book I’m currently reading (or a favorite quote from a book I’ve already read). I will post the quote and then explain why I like it and we can discuss in the comments. What do you guys think of this idea (and the title for the post?). GIVE ME ALL THE FEEDBACK! 🙂Say What You Will

I’m currently reading Cammie McGovern’s Say What You Will, which I’m enjoying. When I read this quote, I really liked it right away. Here it is:

Freakishness could happen to anyone at any time. -Page 13

If you don’t know, this book is about a girl, Amy, who has Cerebral Palsy, and a boy, Matthew, who has OCD. Yes, each of them have their own problems, but I think this book is really trying to tell you that your problems don’t always have to be so obvious (like Amy’s). Anyone could have problems or be a little strange and you might not know it. Like Matthew (well, maybe not quite as intense), you could be afraid of a lot of things but no one will know that by looking at you. I’ve mentioned it before on the blog, but I’m going through some stuff (wow, that is a generalization, but again, not the place to go into that “stuff”), and this quote sort of just struck home…I guess? I thought it was so true, and it reminded me a little of a quote from the movie Psycho: “We all go a little mad sometimes.”

Have you read this book? Did you like this quote? What do you think about it?
