Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the Broke and the Bookish. Today’s theme was:
Beach Reads Week — top ten great beach reads, ten books I plan to read on the beach, ten beach reads for those who don’t like typical ~beach reads~, ten authors who are my go-to for beach reads, etc.
TTT had a similar theme to this one a couple of years ago, so I made sure the books on my list this time are different. But check out that post if you want even more recs! All titles linked to my reviews except The Falls, Everything Leads to You, and I’ll Give you the Sun, which are linked to Goodreads.
The Gracekeepers by Kirsty Logan // The First Time She Drowned by Kerry Kletter // Mosquitoland by David Arnold
Blackhearts by Nicole Castroman // The Falls by Ian Rankin // Our Song by A. Destiny and Elizabeth Lenhard
Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon // Everything Leads to You by Nina LaCour // I’ll Give You the Sun by Jandy Nelson
Something I’ll be reading this summer
Summer Days and Summer Nights edited by Stephanie Perkins
What books are your beach reads?
I linked after you on the Top Ten Tues post, so I thought I stop by and say hello. My list is here: http://books.thetechchef.net/top-ten-tuesday-1/
I went with this on my TBR shelf that I would take to the beach to read.
ohhhh i desperately need to read Blackhearts and Everything, Everything! My TTT
Both of those books are amazing! I hope you enjoy them. 🙂
Blackhearts is on my TBR! I have no idea when I’ll read it, but I do hope to get to it at some point!

I hope you do too! It’s wonderful!
I loved Mosquitoland (one of my favorites of the year) and am listening to The First Time She Drowned right now…for a second time after my Overdrive app glitch and crash. This is a really good list, too!
YESSSS to Mosquitoland! It’s one of my favorites EVER. Do you like the audio for The First Time She Drowned? Maybe I’ll do a reread in that format. 🙂
I just finished the audio in one sitting. It really is good, but when the voices shifted, it kind of threw me for a minute.
Everything, Everything is next on my pile. It’s a book club pick for June. I’m so excited to see it on your list. I need some good beach reading for my vacation next weekend.
Oh, Kate! You will LOVE it. It’s wonderful.
I don’t know if I could read a book about drowning at the beach. But who knows…maybe it’d be a great way to put me into the setting. (Assuming it’s actually about drowning at all.) Nice list.

It definitely looks like it’s about drowning, but overall, it’s more a metaphor to feeling like you’re drowning. 🙂
I’m loving this list. I have Blackhearts and Summer Days on my list as well and couldn’t agree more about Jandy Nelson, Nicola Yoon, and Nina LaCour being perfect beach read authors.
I was just telling someone else that I haven’t read The Sky Is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson, so I’m thinking I’ll have to have it on my summer TBR this year!
Blackhearts is awesome! I really can’t wait for the sequel since I need to know what happen with them! I think I’ll read Summer Days and Summer Nights too, seeing that I enjoy Stephanie’s first anthology. Anyway, great list! 🙂
I CAN’T wait for Blacksouls! I agree – I can’t wait to find out what happens to them.
Our Song definitely looks like a beach read, but the first time she drowned has the more interesting cover/title to me. My Sci-Fi & Scary Books for the Beach.
Our Song is just one of those adorable, fluffy, sweet reads, and it’s super short. The First Time She Drowned is gorgeous all around.
*sorry i accidentally pressed send* but your review made me wanna read it even more! I’ll make sure to check it out asap 🙂
I hope you do! It’s a beautiful book!
The first time she drown sounds as such a compelling book and your
