Hey guys! So as you might’ve seen last week, I’ve been sick. And then you know what is super fun? Just a few days later, I got a stomach virus and was sick again for several days.
I don’t know about you guys, but when I’m sick, I listen to a lot of music. So I thought I’d share some of the stuff I’ve been listening to with you guys. 🙂 I’ll probably do a few of these posts in the next few weeks, but first up?
The 1975
The 1975 recently came out with a new album titled ‘I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it’ (Yeah, I know this is a super weird title) and I’m kind of in love with it. I love that they are pop-y and upbeat and fun and dance-y, but the lyrics are also really smart and sometimes sad and thoughtful. They’re a lot of fun to listen to (and I would highly recommend seeing them live if you ever get the chance). They remind me of a lot of bands but they are mostly definitely their own sound, and I’ve been in love with them for a long time. I think all of the songs on the new album are great but here are the videos to two of my favorites “Love Me” and “The Sound” (which has such a sad freaking video).
What have you been listening to?
Oooh, I’ll have to listen to them! I’ve currently been obsessed with The Hobbit soundtrack, The Strumbella’s “Spirits”, and The Lumineer’s “Ophelia”- both are AMAZING songs.
Oh, I like Spirits! Have you ever heard of Joshua James? You might like him too. 🙂
Oooh, I’ll have to look it up!
I can’t get into the 1975, but I’ve been listening to a lot of TwentyOne Pilots lately!
I LOVE twenty one pilots! They’re my favorite band! What’s your favorite song?
I couldn’t possibly pick one! Debating going to see them in Nashville!
SO WORTH IT. They are incredible live. I’ve got tickets to see them in Orange Beach in August. 🙂
Hope you’re feeling better now, Stefani.
Pretty much all the way! ❤
I find The 1975 hit or miss for me tbh. I feel like they are a mood listen for me. I have been listening to a lot of instrumental music to keep me motivated and calm.
Totally makes sense. I’m the same, honestly. I can’t listen to them all the time either. But I still really enjoy them. Any instrumental recs? I love listening to that kind of stuff when I need to focus.
Yessss oh man I’ve been waiting on this album for so long! My favorites (so far) are She’s American, The Sound, and Somebody Else. And I’m seconding your recommendation to see them live. I went in not expecting much, but Matt Healy is magnetic live, you literally can’t take your eyes off of him.
AGREED! He’s totally magnetic. And I have been dying for this album! It definitely did not disappoint.
