Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the Broke and the Bookish. Today’s theme was:
Top Ten 2015 Releases I Meant To Get To But Didn’t
I’m changing this up to Top Ten 2015 Releases I BOUGHT but Haven’t Read – because I suck. And I have problems with impulse control. And I have a problem with buying books I’m excited about but then don’t have time to read. Hopefully this list will help hold me accountable to reading them this year. Most of them are on my Rock My TBR Challenge to-read piles. (Titles linked to Goodreads)
An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
Written in the Stars by Aisha Saaed
Challenger Deep by Neal Schusterman (actually bought for me by Becky Albertalli so it’s even worse that I haven’t read it)
We All Looked Up by Tommy Wallach
Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman (bought for me by my current #otspsecretsister)
A Madness So Discreet by Mindy McGinnis (ditto above)
Legacy of Kings by Eleanor Herman (won in a giveaway from the author)
These Shallow Graves by Jennifer Donnelly
Still Life Las Vegas by James Sie
Are there any 2015 releases you meant to get to or bought that you didn’t read?
Stefani you haven’t read EMBERRRRR? You must! I read Six of Crows and liked it, but didn’t find it to be 5 stars worthy. Actually, I haven’t read any of the other books on your list either! Ooops. 😛
I KNOW. :((( I need to! Ember’s been near the top of my TBR for so long. I need to get to it soon!
I probably have… 30 that I bought and haven’t read. Low estimate, of course. 😉 So I HAVE read some of these though, and I will urge you along on them! A Madness So Discreet, Challenger Deep, Vengeance Road, Six of Crows, and An Ember in the Ashes are all worthwhile! And funnily enough, We All Looked Up, Written in the Stars, These Shallow Graves, and Legacy of Kings are ALL books that I own and haven’t read yet either bwhahah. We should have a buddy read 😀
Let’s definitely do a buddy read!! Which one of those is close to the top of your TBR?
Thanks to you I have now a few more books on my wishlist 😀
Good luck with getting to read them this year! 🙂
❤
An Ember in the Ashes and Written in the Stars were on my radar and I also didn’t get to them. So many books, so little time.
Thanks for stopping by my post earlier, I will hopefully get to The Rose Society too. 😀
My TTT
I hope you do!
I love the cover for Written in The Stars! Great list, Stefani. 🙂
Thank you!
Oh Legacy of Kings was so good! Also, An Ember in the Ashes. Love those books. A Madness So Discreet and These Shallow Graves both made my list as well. Here is my top ten list: http://bookbinges.blogspot.it/2016/01/top-ten-tuesday-2015-releases-that-are.html
I hope we can both get to these books soon!
Ohhhh Legacy of Kings! I received it for Christmas but I’m a little scared my expectations of it are too high!
Same! As excited I was for these books, I’m kind of glad it’s taken me a while to get to them because the hype has died down a bit.
These Shallow Graves, Written in the Stars and Challenger Deep are also on my TBR list from last year but I didn’t get to them. I LOVED Six of Crows and A Madness So Discreet, and An Ember in the Ashes and Vengeance Road were pretty good too 🙂
I can’t wait to get to all of these!
Six Of Crows is amazing! And a lot of the other titles are on my TBR as well.
YAAY! I’m finishing up the first three Grisha books and then I’ll get to SoC!
I hope you enjoy them! 😀
I have a lot of these on my TBR list and even purchased An Ember in the Ashes in hardcover with good intentions. Speed reading course, here I come.
Haha! SAME. I bought a HC of An Ember in the Ashes too because I was so excited and just haven’t gotten to it yet.
Vengeance Roas also made my list this week, it ended up being one of those books that simply fell through the cracks after it’s release, but a few really great reviews have renewed my interest.
I hope we both get to read it soon!
Fear not, I too have problems with impulsive book-buying. I really need to check out A Madness So Discreet – I’ve seen it on a lot of lists this week! I hope you get to some of these soon. 🙂
I’m so glad I’m not the only one! 🙂
I don’t feel as bad for my buying XD The Still Life’s of Vegas makes me curious because I live near there. If you’re looking for a buddy for Legacy of Kings let me know I have it too. I hope you get to read all you hoping to this year =D
I definitely will! I’m not sure when I’ll get to Legacy of Kings but I’ll let you know!
Same problem with me! My intentions are always good. Bookworm fail, lol. 😉 Several on your list I also got this year and haven’t read! Ember in the Ashes, Six of Crows, A Madness so Discreet, These Shallow Graves. Ahhh…I need more reading time! I hear these are all wonderful, too. I hope we both get to read them this year.
RIGHT?! I need an entire day for reading. Let’s buddy read one or two of those?
Wonderful list. I can actually admit to only reading one of these myself – Six of Crows, but I absolutely LOVED that one and would highly recommend it. A lot of the others are ones I still need to read myself. I hope I manage to get to them this year.
I hope we both can get to them!
Challenger Deep was on my list this week too!

A Madness So Discreet, An Ember in the Ashes, Legacy of Kings, and Vengeance Road are all fantastic! I hope you enjoy them.
Check out my TTT.
Eeeep! I can’t wait to get to all of those!
I bought Six of Crows and Vengeance Road as well! They were two of my highly anticipated reads but the moment I bought them, they went on my bookshelf, and I’ve yet to take them down! What is wrong with me???
The same thing that’s wrong with me, I guess!
The only book from you list that I did get to read in 2015 is An Ember In The Ashes, which I loved. Six Of Crows and Vengeance Road are on my TTT and on my Rock my TBR challenge, since I also have no control when it comes to buying books. I hope you get to read them all this year!
My TTT
They’re on my Rock My TBR list as well! I hope we both get to read them. 🙂
Oh man I do the same thing – sometimes I even preorder the books and still don’t read them! UGH haha
I haven’t done that yet! Usually if I pre-order something it’s because I HAVE to read it (A Gathering of Shadows, The Raven King, etc.).
Excellent list! I want to read most of those too. I did read Six of Crows and it was excellent!
Eeep! I’m excited for that one. Reading the first 3 Grisha books now (currently on Siege and Storm) and then I’ll read that one!
I have Six of Crows and Written in the Stars in my pile of library books, so I’m going to be reading them soon enough. Though I make excited purchases of books that wait years before they’re read, too…
Looking forward to your thoughts on both of those. I hope to get to them soon too.
This is why I don’t buy a lot of books (well, for a bibliophile – compared to the “average person” I buy a ton of books 😉 ). I try to read new releases from the library, unless it’s an author / series that I ❤ .Of course, once I've read something I often buy it to add to my collection so I can re-read later. 😀
I probably need to get better about reading books from the library. I mean, I work in one for goodness sake.
I have the same problem so I’m trying to be better about buying books and instead reading what I have. But aren’t we all? So many of these should have been on my list too except then it would have been way too long. I did read and loved Six of Crows and Vengeance Road so definitely get to those soon!
I’m reading the first books in the Grisha series now (currently reading Siege and Storm) and then I’ll read Six of Crows. Happy to hear you loved it!
I was so excited for Vengeance Road last year and I never got to it either. I’ll just have to carry it over to this year!
Same! I find I get super excited about a lot of books but then just don’t have time to read them. I hope we both get to read VR this year!
