Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten 2015 Releases I BOUGHT but Haven’t Read

Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the Broke and the Bookish. Today’s theme was:

Top Ten 2015 Releases I Meant To Get To But Didn’t

I’m changing this up to Top Ten 2015 Releases I BOUGHT but Haven’t Read – because I suck. And I have problems with impulse control. And I have a problem with buying books I’m excited about but then don’t have time to read. Hopefully this list will help hold me accountable to reading them this year. Most of them are on my Rock My TBR Challenge to-read piles. (Titles linked to Goodreads)

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo
Written in the Stars by Aisha Saaed
Challenger Deep by Neal Schusterman (actually bought for me by Becky Albertalli so it’s even worse that I haven’t read it)

We All Looked Up by Tommy Wallach
Vengeance Road by Erin Bowman (bought for me by my current #otspsecretsister)
A Madness So Discreet by Mindy McGinnis (ditto above)

Legacy of Kings by Eleanor Herman (won in a giveaway from the author)
These Shallow Graves by Jennifer Donnelly
Still Life Las Vegas by James Sie

Are there any 2015 releases you meant to get to or bought that you didn’t read?

  1. Stefani you haven’t read EMBERRRRR? You must! I read Six of Crows and liked it, but didn’t find it to be 5 stars worthy. Actually, I haven’t read any of the other books on your list either! Ooops. 😛

  2. I probably have… 30 that I bought and haven’t read. Low estimate, of course. 😉 So I HAVE read some of these though, and I will urge you along on them! A Madness So Discreet, Challenger Deep, Vengeance Road, Six of Crows, and An Ember in the Ashes are all worthwhile! And funnily enough, We All Looked Up, Written in the Stars, These Shallow Graves, and Legacy of Kings are ALL books that I own and haven’t read yet either bwhahah. We should have a buddy read 😀

  3. An Ember in the Ashes and Written in the Stars were on my radar and I also didn’t get to them. So many books, so little time.

Thanks for stopping by my post earlier, I will hopefully get to The Rose Society too. 😀

  4. I have a lot of these on my TBR list and even purchased An Ember in the Ashes in hardcover with good intentions. Speed reading course, here I come.

  5. I don’t feel as bad for my buying XD The Still Life’s of Vegas makes me curious because I live near there. If you’re looking for a buddy for Legacy of Kings let me know I have it too. I hope you get to read all you hoping to this year =D

  6. Same problem with me! My intentions are always good. Bookworm fail, lol. 😉 Several on your list I also got this year and haven’t read! Ember in the Ashes, Six of Crows, A Madness so Discreet, These Shallow Graves. Ahhh…I need more reading time! I hear these are all wonderful, too. I hope we both get to read them this year.

  7. The only book from you list that I did get to read in 2015 is An Ember In The Ashes, which I loved. Six Of Crows and Vengeance Road are on my TTT and on my Rock my TBR challenge, since I also have no control when it comes to buying books. I hope you get to read them all this year!

  8. I have Six of Crows and Written in the Stars in my pile of library books, so I’m going to be reading them soon enough. Though I make excited purchases of books that wait years before they’re read, too…

  9. This is why I don’t buy a lot of books (well, for a bibliophile – compared to the “average person” I buy a ton of books 😉 ). I try to read new releases from the library, unless it’s an author / series that I ❤ .Of course, once I've read something I often buy it to add to my collection so I can re-read later. 😀

  10. I have the same problem so I’m trying to be better about buying books and instead reading what I have. But aren’t we all? So many of these should have been on my list too except then it would have been way too long. I did read and loved Six of Crows and Vengeance Road so definitely get to those soon!
