Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the Broke and the Bookish. Today’s theme was:
10 Wishes I’d Ask The Book Genie To Grant Me (a new book from a certain author, a reading superpower, a library that is your absolutely #librarygoals, a character to come to life, to met a certain author etc. etc.) YOU DREAM IT AND THE BOOKISH GENIE CAN DO IT.
Oh, lovely book genie, I wish…
– Ian Rankin’s books weren’t published in the States TWO months after the UK.
– I could read the Harry Potter series for the first time again.
– Stephen Chbosky’s next book was in my hands right now.
– I could have the second books by Becky Albertalli, David Arnold, Adam Silvera, Renee Ahdieh, and so many others right now.
– I could pause time and just read all day, every day for a couple of weeks.
– My TBR was a little less intimidating sometimes.
– The Raven King was out so I could devour it.
– I still lived near a Waterstone’s for their 3 for 2 or buy 2 get 1 free deals. And yes, I know this kind of cancels out the TBR wish.
– There were more bookish events near me. I love roadtripping but sometimes I can’t in the middle of the week.
– And finally, I wish it was always fall so I could read in the hammock all day long.
What would you ask of the book genie?
Ugh, I LOVE your list. For Iain Rankin’s books, does The Book Depositroy have the UK version available for you on time?? Is Chbosky releasing a new book? And I definitely want the unlimited reading time. You know when you’re asked that question, what would you do if you won the lottery? I’ve finally decided I would just read. All. The. Time 😀 R xx
I think it’d still take a few weeks from TBD, but luckily I have a friend who’s shipping me his latest from the UK! 🙂 I’ve seen in a few places that Chbosky is writing a second book!
Great list! I would love endless time for reading so that I could actually get through my TBR pile. There are so many books on it. I need more time!! Here is my top ten list: http://bookbinges.blogspot.it/2015/10/top-ten-tuesday-european-library-wish.html
We just need an 8th day every week just for reading. 🙂
Wish I could go to some book events! I’ve never been because of the distances. How do you find out about the bookish events that you go to?
Aubrey Joy
Most of the bookish events I go to are either at my local indie or at my favorite bookstore in Decatur, GA, so I just stalk their websites. Lol. I also find some by seeing what events people are talking about on Twitter or visiting my favorite author’s websites. I tend to make a road trip out of them – Decatur, GA is about 5.5 hours away.
I would love some time to just read! It reminds me of summers in elementary school. I was a bookworm from a young age 🙂 Plus, the UK/US difference kills me on multiple occasions!
Same! Sometimes I wish we could go back in time to when we were in school because we had so much time to read!
Pausing time would be lovely. Good list!

Either that or an extra day to read!
Yes to pausing time to read and having The Raven King in my hands! I mean is it really to much to ask lol!
THE RAVEN KING!! I need it!
SAME! I think I may be dying slowly as I wait!
Yes, Raven King, I want you nooooow!
YES, PLEASE!!
Awesome list 🙂
Thank you!
Being able to read HP for the first time again would be super magical. Man that would be amazing. My TTT
Agreed! I wonder if we’d feel the same way now that we’re older?
100% with you on pausing time to read. I also want a library with no due dates! 😉
Just get a job at a library! No fines when you’re late!
Great wishes! 🙂
I had book events on my top ten list today as well.
A second book from Becky Albertalli right now would be amazing!
I just read Harry Potter for the first time this year.
I need Becky’s second book like yesterday!
Pausing time to read and Reading in a Hammock sound awesome. 🙂 My TTT
I’m so excited for fall weather because it means hammock time!
Never been in a hammock!
Add that on to your list of things to do soon. 🙂
Here here for The Raven King being out now and getting to read Harry Potter again for the first time. I can’t even imagine how great that would be.
SO great. It’d be like being a kid again!
Great list! I wish my TBR list wasn’t so ever-growing that I find it hard to catch up too! 😀
It gets so overwhelming sometimes!
I know right? I fall into reading slumps just because I can’t decide which book to read next !
