Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the Broke and the Bookish. Today’s theme was:
Top Ten Authors I’ve Read The Most Books From
I made it to 9 authors. Most of the authors I’ve read several books from are in the 4-5 book range, and there’s several of them, so I just kept it at 6 and up. I’m counting comics are separate books, so I have two authors that have A LOT of books.
Ian Rankin – I’ve lost count, but it’s somewhere in the 30s. I’ve read all of his books except the one out later this year and the short story collection, The Beat Goes On, which I NEED. My favorite: The Falls
Robert Kirkman – I’m counting each comic as a separate book, so I’ve read 143 issues of The Walking Dead, and I haven’t read it but own the first volume of Outcast, which is the first six issues. My favorite: I’m going to go with volume 1 – that’s the one that hooked me
Brian K. Vaughan – 39: 29 issues of Saga, 10 issues of Y: The Last Man. My favorite: Ditto above, volume 1 – the first comic I read
Sarah Dessen – 12 books? My favorite: The Truth about Forever
Oliver Jeffers – I think it’s 11 books? My favorite: Once Upon an Alphabet (favorite book he illustrated is hands down The Day the Crayons Quit)
Matt Haig – 8 books and I own two others, which I can’t believe I haven’t read. My favorite: The Humans
J.K. Rowling – 7.5 books (I didn’t finish The Casual Vacancy yet). My favorite: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince
Scott Westerfeld – 7 books. My favorite: Uglies
Maggie Stiefvater – 6 books. My favorite: The Dream Thieves
I love Scott Westerfeld! I first read the Uglies series back in middle school and whenever I would try to explain the plot all my friends we’re like, “what?” I actually love the series so much that I bought the companion reference novel, Bogus to Bubbly, which is something I NEVER do! I think it was pretty good, if I remember correctly. I’ve wanted to reread them for a while now, but I’m kind of scared that I won’t like them as much and my whole like will be ruined. 😦
I read the Uglies series a long time ago too, and I’m nervous to reread them for the exact same reason.
I will never forget that day I mindlessly said “I wish there was a book cover with a nose on it” and then you pointed me to Haig’s cover of The Humans.
Cheers,
Joey via. thoughts and afterthoughts.
Hahaha. Yep. I still much prefer the UK cover (the one not with a nose).
I love your choices, those Graphic novels look really good! I’ve read one Sarah Dessen book before: ‘This Lullaby’. Of course, J.K. Rowling OBVIOUSLY made my list :’)
Check out my Top Ten Tuesday list!

I just bought my first Ian Rankin, how proud are you?! Well, it’s for my dad (the newbie bibliophile!) but I’ll get my hands on it at some point. And I NEARLY bought Matt Haig the other day. Soon, Stef, soon. R x
SO proud!! Which one is it?? AH! How could you ALMOST buy a Matt Haig book? Lol.
…because it was full price, and I have full price commitment issues?? *puppy dog eyes*
The Falls and Resurrection Men. I found a UK website that does them CHEAP if you ever want to push them on someone – http://www.theworks.co.uk/c/fiction-books/author/ian-rankin If Dad likes them, he’ll be getting them ALL. R x
THE FALLS IS MY FAVORITE!! I’m sorry for the yelling but that is the first book I read by Ian Rankin and I love love love it.
I saw Edinburgh in the blurb too… lol R x
Ooh nice list! I have Sarah Dessen on my list too (though I haven’t read as many as you did) and J.K. Rowling as well. 🙂
I feel like a lot of nerds will have JK on our lists. 🙂
Love love love Maggie! I seriously cannot wait for The Raven King. And I love Sarah! She’s amazing!
AHH! I am dying to read The Raven King! I almost even teared up when we first learned the title a few months ago. Haha.
Rowling is an Honorable mention on my list. I need to try Sarah Dressen, I see her books on these TTT lists all the time.

I adore Sarah Dessen. She’s writes these great, sweet summer reads!
Yay for Sarah Dessen! She made it onto my list too, but I haven’t read as many as you have. Surprisingly, JK Rowling didn’t make my list. I think that’s just because I counted books since I started blogging though.
AH! I almost did that too, but my list would have been a lot shorter. I’ve seen Sarah Dessen on a bunch of lists today!
J. K. almost made my list (I’ve read 13 books by her, including those written under her pseudonym). I didn’t even try to include picture books, although I’ve probably read every book Mo Willems has written (multiple times). 😉
You know, after i posted this, I remembered those school books she wrote and The Tales of Beedle the Bard. I’ve definitely read more than 7 books by her. Oops.
I think that was a theme yesterday. I can’t tell you how many lists I saw and thought, oh yeah, I’ve read a ton of so-and-so’s books. Mostly, it was stuff I read as a kid like Babysitters Club and Sweet Valley High.
True. I tried to keep any series like that – Babysitters Club, Judy Blume, etc. – out because I read a million when I was a kid.
I barely made it to 10- I added some authors that I loved when I was in middle school lol.
Great list! I really want to read The Raven Cycle, so hopefully I’ll get into that soon
ANA! I really think you would love The Raven Cycle books! I hope you can get to them soon too!
I didn’t even think to add the Saga series! Oops. Anyway, love your list! We have Harry Potter in common, naturally. 🙂
I always like mixing my lists up – including picture books and comics in addition to books. Had to include Saga as it was the comic that got me into comics!
It did the same for me! A great place to start.
