Stacking the Shelves is a weekly meme hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.
I hardly EVER do Stacking the Shelves, but I got so many awesome books this week that I HAD to share! 🙂
If you’re on Twitter, you might’ve seen the #booksfortrade hashtag that started recently. It’s AWESOME. All you have to do is post a picture (or list) of the books you no longer want and would like to trade, and you are able to trade them with other people for books you DO want! A lot of the time it happens pretty quickly too, which is great. For example, I posted that I was interested in finding an ARC of I.W. Gregorio’s None of the Above, and I traded with Eden Grey for my HC of The Girl from the Well in TWELVE minutes! How cool is that? So this week, I received None of the Above from Eden and Article 5 (which I traded for my HC of Dorothy Must Die) from Sarah!
I also received the NOVL box I won from the amazing people at The NOVL (the cool people at Little, Brown Books for Young Readers). April’s NOVL box was curated by Jennifer E. Smith who I LOVE, so I was so excited to get it! I loved everything in it. The only problem was that I actually already own all three of Jen’s books as well as an ARC of her new book, so the only new book I got is Jessica Darling’s It List, which I’m looking forward to reading! Plus, I got some whoopie pie mix I can’t wait to try! I’m not sure what I’m going to do with the duplicate Jen books, but it’ll probably mean a fun giveaway! Thanks so much to the lovely people at The NOVL for this awesome box!
Today I went to Books-A-Million with a friend of mine and bought a few things! I got: The Wrath and the Dawn by Renee Ahdieh (I CANNOT WAIT TO READ THIS ONE), issues #3 & 4 of Return of the Living Deadpool (both for cheaper than the list price of ONE!), and Grace’s Guide: The Art of Pretending to Be a Grown-up (for $4.97!!). I got ALL of this for only $21 which I was pretty excited about.
One more thing! I was waiting on my friend to get her stuff together at the library (where she works) before we went to BAM, and I found a HC copy of Meg Wolitzer’s The Interestings in the sale section for ONE DOLLAR! It has a part cut out in the back where the barcode used to be (it was a library copy that was replaced) but it’s still in pretty good shape and it was A DOLLAR! I loved her most recent book Belzhar, so I’m looking forward to trying this one.
Did you get any books this week? Tell me what you got in the comments or send me pictures!
Ooh, Wolitzer for a dollar! Lucky duck!
Also, #booksfortrade sounds AWESOME. I’m such a library addict that I hardly ever buy books (and I don’t think my library would appreciate me trading their books), but I’m going to keep it in mind if I ever find myself purging some of my collection.

Wasn’t None of The Above so good? I’m wanting to get a physical arc of it as well, but I’m having to wait a few more weeks (before I get money for shipping), to try to trade anything for it. Hopefully others have it and are willing to part. Lol. Finding someone to trade with in 12 minutes is awesome. Hmm, I haven’t really heard of Article 5.
Ooh, I totally entered that NOVL box giveaway last week, alas, did not win. 🙂 A giveaway for the books (or at least that new arc ;)), would be awesome! Haha, I’d enter.
The Wrath and The Dawn<3 I still need to read that one, I sort of started it last month, but then stopped for some ridiculous reason. Lol.
That was a great library find. I've been interested in reading Belzhar, but haven't gotten around to it yet.
I haven't gotten any books this week! 😦 Which is fine because I have quite a few…
None of the Above was SO good. I’m really glad I was able to get a physical ARC to keep in my collection because I loved it. Article 5 was written by the same author as The Glass Arrow, which I really liked, so I want to read something else by her. 🙂
I’m thinking I’ll do a giveaway of the Jennifer E. Smith books. I’ll keep you guys updated. I’m so excited for The Wrath and the Dawn! I’m meeting the author next month, so I’ve got to read it before then!
The NOVL box seems too cool! I’ve never read any books by Jennifer E. Smith though I’ve been meaning to give them a try. I recently finished reading None of the Above and really enjoyed it so it’s cool that you have an arc. Happy reading! 🙂

Jennifer E. Smith books are perfectly sweet and swoony. Hopefully you’ll get to try one one day. 🙂
That’s quite a haul, especially considering how little you spent! I used the B&N gift card that I got for Mother’s Day to purchase Casual Vacancy by J. K. Rowling and The Golem and the Jinni by Helene Wecker. I also received my Amazon pre-order of Paddington Helps Out by Michael Bond (the newest edition of the classic book). And I picked up paperbacks of Further Chronicles of Avonlea by L. M. Montgomery and Howard’s End by E. M. Forster at a library book sale for $0.75 – I’m pretty sure neither one had ever been read, which is sad.
I was pretty excited about it all, especially since I didn’t spend a lot! That’s the best. I hope you like Casual Vacancy. I tried it but couldn’t do it. I own it though so if you like it, I’ll have to try again! It is really sad that those books haven’t been read, but maybe the person already owned a copy. Either way, you got a great deal!
I’ve been unsure about Casual Vacancy because it got lots of bad press, but now that I’ve read, and really enjoyed, her Robert Gailbraith books, I thought I’d give it a try.
Let me know what you think!
I’m super jealous about that NOVL box!
I was so excited about it!
Great line up of books! I really want to get None of the Above!
It’s very good! I hope you get to read it soon!
