Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by the Broke and the Bookish. Today’s theme was:
Top Ten Books On My Winter TBR
My True Love Gave to Me, Edited by Stephanie Perkins – I was going to wait until winter to buy this one, but couldn’t wait. However, I think I’m going to read one story a day during my holiday break from work. I think that’d be the perfect time. 🙂
The Rosie Effect by Graeme Simsion – Can’t wait for this one. CAN’T. WAIT.
Legend by Marie Lu – I recently read and LOVED Marie Lu’s The Young Elites. I already own Legend (got it for my birthday), so I’m definitely looking forward to reading this one!
The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey – I’ve heard mixed things about this one, but my friend Booknerderie just reviewed it and really liked it, so I’ve got to read it. Already own this one too.
Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo – winter is all about dark books for me – dystopian, fantasy, sad books – and I’ve been wanting to read this one for a while. Good thing I already have a copy of this – signed too!
Sinner by Maggie Stiefvater – I started rereading The Wolves of Mercy Falls series as audiobooks, but Linger was skipping, so I’m going to finish rereading them as physical books. I know I don’t have to reread the series to understand Sinner, but it’s been so long since I’ve read it and the series was due a reread anyway.
Daughter of Smoke and Bone by Laini Taylor – same reason as Shadow and Bone.
Shift and Dust by Hugh Howey – These were on my fall TBR and I wasn’t able to get to them. I need to.
Let it Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle – I haven’t read this book yet and it is the only John Green book I haven’t read. What better time of year to read it than during winter?
(hopefully) The Scorpio Races by Maggie Stiefvater – I saw hopefully because it’s on my Christmas wishlist. I love Maggie and I need to read everything she’s ever written!
What’s on your winter TBR?
I’m about to start Daughter of Smoke and Bone, I’ve heard nothing but wonderful things! I’ve been trying to track down My True Love Gave to Me here in Australia but no luck so far, methinks I’ll have to look online. As for Shadow and Bone, that’s a fantastic read!
Maybe you can get it through the Book Depository?
I’m really looking forward to all of these!
Daughter Of Smoke & Bone is fantastic!! 🙂 The Rosie Effect is a book I’ve heard good things about too 🙂
Check out my TTT!

Have you read The Rosie Project? It’s so great. Thanks for stopping by, Katrina! Heading to check out yours now.
That sounds like a wonderful plan; to read one story of My True Love every day leading up to the finale that is Christmas! Legend is just another one of those completed trilogies that has their own TBR pile waiting to be queued up but I do hope you enjoy it as much as you loved The Young Elites!
Cheers,
joey via. thoughts and afterthoughts
I thought so too. Might as well prolong the sweet stories for as long as possible, right?
I hope so too! I loved The Young Elites. 🙂
LEGEND! Read it for a teen book club and loved it! Haven’t read the rest of the series but I want to eventually! How did you like the Young Elites??
Also DAUGHTER OF SMOKE & BONE ahhhhhh!!! I LOVE THAT SERIES SO SO FREAKING MUCH ❤ ❤
I LOVED The Young Elites! I’m definitely excited to read Legend. 🙂
I’ve seen Shift and Dust but just assumed they were part of the Wool Omnibus. Now that I realize they’re not, I totally want to read these! I loved Wool.
It was good, wasn’t it?! I need to read the other two books soon!
I absolutely loved Daughter of Smoke and Bone. Enjoy!
Yay! I’m looking forward to it.
The reread can help you enjoy Sinner though by reminding you of Cole. I am rereading the series for a read-a-long and it’s helping me find more to love of the characters! =]
That’s exactly what I figured. It would be best to reread just to remember him AND because I’d almost forgotten how much I loved the characters. Well, not really, but I’d wanted to reread anyway. 😉
Does that mean you’ve already read Howey’s Wool? I bought that book about a year and a half ago and not gotten around to reading it yet =[ but I want to and then read Shift and Dust also!
Yep. I’ve read Wool. I really liked it. It’s pretty long though, so some people have been put off by that. I think it’s worth it.
It’s long? My copy doesn’t look long
also it’s was serialized right? So I don’t get why people are complaining when it was meant to be read in chapter installments xD
It’s about 550 pages long. I don’t personally think that’s long, but some people do, so I like to warn people. I completely agree – I don’t get why people are complaining either. I loved it.
I’ve been wanting some holiday themed books, so I just put Let It Snow and My True Love Gave to Me on hold at my local library. 🙂
Yay! Perfect timing. 🙂
Fun! I loved My True Love Gave to Me and Let it Snow … but I’m a huge sucker for holiday books. Hope you enjoy!
I haven’t really read that many holiday books, but I’m definitely looking forward to both of those!
I loved Let it Snow! Maureen Johnson and John Green are the best. I can’t wait to read My True Love Gave to Me this winter, too!
I love both of them too! Also, I’ve heard wonderful things about My True Love…
5th Wave made my list too! Legend, Daughter of Smoke and Bone, and Shadow and Bone are all great books!
I’m looking forward to all of those! Winter is just perfect for dystopian and fantasy. 🙂
Looks like a lot of popular books, and I realized… I haven’t read any of those! haha! I need to put some of these on my wishlist.
Ha! A lot of these are popular around the book blog world and I haven’t read any of them.
You’ve got some great books on your TBR!
I absolutely LOVE Daughter of Smoke and Bone + The 5th Wave! Legend and Scorpio Races are great books too!
I still need to read Sinner but it’s been so long since I read the other books that I want to reread them first too! I hope I find them time for that early next year.
Same thing for me when it comes to the Wolves of Mercy Falls series. I hope you find time to reread them too!
